Amanda, I just had to say how much I loved this piece. Your writing style is so warm and honest, and this article really hit home for me. I completely understand your point of view! It felt like you were putting into words things I’ve felt for years.

What really struck me was how refreshingly authentic you were about this topic. So many women who color their hair feel exactly this way but don’t always say it out loud. You gave voice to something deeply relatable, and I think a lot of us saw ourselves in your words. For me, I’ve had blonde highlights since I was about 20, and I honestly can’t imagine myself without them. On the rare occasions when I’ve gone fully brown and let the highlights go, I just didn’t feel like me. And letting my gray show isn’t something I’m comfortable with, so I’m in the salon every 6–7 weeks for touch-ups. It’s simply part of who I am.

Thank you for being your authentic self! It gives the rest of us permission to feel the same! :)

Love the journey you captured! My grey hairs came in early, some in my early 20's. I've always been an old soul so I proudly sport my greying hair. It's long, thick and healthy and I cut it myself for years now. For me, my grey is sexy and it's what makes me, me!
